About Beta Group

The Group was known as KJP Group pioneered and promoted by Mr. K. Janardhanan Pillai known as doyen of the world cashew nuts acknowledged in his own right as a business leader. The group has more than 70 years of experience and successful track record in the area of cashew processing and exporting. They had won several awards from Govt. of India for excellence in export performance and half about 40 factories in the State of Tamilnadu, Kerala & Andhra Pradesh employing over 8,000 workers, supervisory and managerial personnel. At present the group is having 18 factories in the State of Kerala & Tamil Nadu and a combined capacity of these factories is around 20,000 M.Ton per annum. The flagship division of the group is the “Cashew Division”. The group due to its status as one of the largest food processing companies in South East Asia has created a perennial demand for its food products all over the world with turnover of over Rs.2,808 crores (US $ 645 Million) and growing at an estimated 21 per cent annually.    

As part of the diversification the proposal is made by the Directors of Beta Group, a dynamic multi national Group of companies with multiple products and multi dimensional activities. The Group was founded and managed by K. Janardhanan Pillai, father of Mr. J.M. Rajan Pillai the late biscuit tycoon and Mr. J. Rajmohan Pillai.

  

Mr. Rajan Pillai was formerly the Area President for Nabisco operations in Africa & Asia Pacific before establishing the Britannia Group of Companies with biscuit and snack foods operations in India, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan & Hong Kong. At present the Group is headed by Mr. J. Rajmohan Pillai, younger brother of J.M. Rajan Pillai. The business interest covers a wide spectrum from pioneers to premier status on the corporate front for more than 70 years in edible nuts and foods products to airlines and shipping to consultancy. The Group has a strong research and social commitment. It was formed and funded both the KJP Research Foundation and the Rajan Pillai Foundation.
